When applying this technology to reprocess single-component (1C) seismic library data, it provides the capability to process a converted-shear wave mode SV-P. Now, for the first time, all 1C library data can provide exceptional multi-component seismic data without incurring the cost of new 3C data acquisition.
Even better, when applying to three-component (3C) seismic data, it provides the capability to process direct-shear wave modes SH-SH and/or SV-SV if there is weak azimuth anisotropy, or fast-S/slow-S if there is significant azimuth anisotropy. Geophysicists can obtain quality 9C imaging data without the added expense of horizontal vibrators. Now, for the first time, 9C imaging data can be generated from the most challenging and remote environments.
